A disturbing incident involving a Blinkit delivery agent urinating inside a residential lift has triggered public outrage in Mumbai’s Virar West. The act, captured on CCTV, took place at the CD Gurudev Building last Friday afternoon and came to light after residents noticed a foul smell and unhygienic conditions in the lift.
Upon reviewing the building’s surveillance footage, residents were shocked to discover the delivery agent entering the elevator with a parcel in his left hand. In the video, the individual appears conscious of the camera’s presence—he turns his back, unzips his pants, and urinates directly on the lift’s front gate.
Angered by the footage, several residents traced the delivery agent to the nearest Blinkit office. According to reports, he was confronted and allegedly assaulted by locals before being handed over to the police.
A formal complaint has been registered at the Bolinj Police Station. Police officials have confirmed the receipt of the complaint and stated that an investigation is currently in progress to determine the appropriate legal course of action.
While Blinkit has yet to issue an official response, sources indicate that internal disciplinary action may be initiated against the accused.
The incident has sparked a conversation about hygiene and accountability among delivery personnel, especially in residential spaces where trust and public decency are expected.
Residents have urged stricter background checks and behavioural training for delivery staff to prevent such incidents from recurring.
