Pune, Mar 9, 2025 – Gaurav Ahuja, the BMW driver whose video of urinating in public went viral, has issued a public apology for his actions. In a video posted on social media, Ahuja admitted that what he did was wrong and expressed remorse. He also requested the public to refrain from harassing his family members following the incident.

“I am Gaurav Ahuja, what I did in public was very wrong. I apologise to the public, the police department, and Shinde Saheb. Give me a chance, I’m sorry. Don’t bother any of my family members. I will surrender at the Yerwada police station in the next eight hours,” he said in the video, bowing his head in apology.

The video of Ahuja’s public urination quickly went viral after being posted on social media, showing him getting out of his luxury BMW in the Shastrinagar area of Pune’s Yerawada, and relieving himself on the side of the road. The incident took place early on Saturday morning and was captured by a passerby. Many speculated that Ahuja was intoxicated at the time, though it has not been officially confirmed.

As a result of the viral video, Ahuja was charged with public nuisance, rash and negligent driving, and causing danger on public roads under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act. A case was registered, and Ahuja later surrendered to the police at the Yerwada station.

In connection with the incident, another man, Bhagyesh Oswal, who was seen in the car with a beer bottle, was also arrested. Both Ahuja and Oswal underwent medical checks on Sunday morning to determine if they were under the influence at the time of the incident.

Ahuja was expected to be produced in court later that day. Authorities have condemned the act, and the public reaction has been swift, with many criticizing his behavior, while others noted his prompt apology.
