Former world boxing champion Saweety Boora has filed an FIR against her husband, Asian Games bronze medalist kabaddi player Deepak Hooda, alleging domestic violence and dowry harassment. The complaint, lodged in Hisar, Haryana, claims Hooda assaulted her and demanded ₹1 crore along with an SUV.

In response, Hooda has filed a counter-complaint in Rohtak, accusing Boora’s family of seizing his property and issuing threats. Hisar police confirmed the FIR under Section 85 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which penalizes cruelty against a wife. Authorities claim Hooda ignored multiple summons, citing health issues due to “trauma.”

Married since July 2022, the couple—both Arjuna Award recipients—now face a strained relationship that may lead to separation. Boora, a 2023 World Champion gold medalist, received the Arjuna Award in January 2025. Hooda, a 2016 South Asian Games gold medalist, also contested the 2024 Haryana assembly elections unsuccessfully as a BJP candidate.

The case continues as both parties stand firm in their allegations.
