A Pakistani national was shot dead by Border Security Force (BSF) personnel after he crossed the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir on the night of April 4–5. According to BSF officials, the intruder was spotted near the border and was repeatedly warned to stop. When he ignored the warnings and continued advancing, BSF troops opened fire, eliminating the threat.

The individual’s identity and motives are currently under investigation. Authorities have launched a probe to determine the circumstances of the intrusion.

The BSF has initiated a strong protest with their Pakistani counterparts through established communication channels. Meanwhile, local police have recovered the body and are completing legal formalities, including a postmortem examination.

This incident once again highlights the persistent security challenges along the India-Pakistan border. Efforts are being reinforced to maintain strict vigilance and prevent unauthorized crossings.
