Muthur (Kerala): Condemning the decision of the Apex Court on Sabarimala, the Bhartiya Janata Party has begun a campaign “Sabarimala Ulisi” (Save Sabarimala) under the leadership of BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa.
The BJP Kerala State President P. S. Sreedharan Pillai joined the flag off ceremony of the campaign.
The campaign which began on Thursday, November 8, here will conclude on November 30 at Sabarimala.
Yeddyurappa said that the women were and are being given respect in our culture and tradition. He also said that the prime reason for this chaos was the Kerala state government, which was unable to handle the situation.
BSY said that about 90 percent of the women were against the decision and that they have opined that it was improper to enter the sanctum during their reproductive age.
He added that everyone must be respectful towards the existing belief system and that the state government must take initiative in filing the review petition.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojari, MP Rajya Sabha P Muralidharan and other leaders were present.
