BSY’s cabinet expansion: BJP national leadership builds up suspense

Bengaluru: The much-awaited cabinet expansion of BS Yediyurappa government will take place on Tuesday morning between 10.30 am to 11.30 am at the Raj Bhavan.
Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and BJP National Chief Amit Shah had held a closed-door meeting on Saturday and discussed the allocation of ministeries, along with various issues related to the state. It is said that the national leadership of the party has consulted with BJP National Co-Convener BL Santhosh before finalising the list of ministers. The CM and BL Santhosh have presented one set of recommendations each to Shah and one may have to wait and watch whose recommendations will be valued by Shah.

A sense of suspense has been built around the cabinet expansion and as per sources, even a day before the cabinet expansion, none within the party are showing any signs of knowing who is in the cabinet and who is out. It is said that the final list will be sent to the state only on Monday evening. Sources say that there will be many surprises this time and even the CM is unaware of how many names recommended by him may have been included in the list. The CM is holding discussion with leaders like Basavaraj Bommai, Govind Karjol, Umesh Katti, Sunil Kumar, Prabhu Chauhan, Ashwath Narayan and others at his residences on Monday. A total of 13 to 15 ministers will be sworn-in on Tuesday, say sources.
