Chattisghad CM seeks ‘clinical attention’ for ‘mentally ill’ PM Modi

Raipur: Bhupesh Baghel, Chief Minister of Chattisgarh has joined the fight between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comments on former PM Rajiv Gandhi. He said, “Modi needs medical treatment as he has lost his mental balance.”

Quoting PM Modi’s recent interaction with the media, Baghel told newspersons’ in Raipur further, “Those who don’t get enough sleep tend to lose their mental balance/”

PM Modi had earlier told media that he sleeps only for three to four hours due to his hectic work schedule.

Last Saturday in a rally in Uttar Pradesh PM Modi had said targetting AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi, “Your father was termed ‘Mr. Clean’ by his courtiers, but his life ended as bhrashtachari number 1 (corrupt number 1).”

PM Modi was referring to corruption allegations on late Rajiv Gandhi in the purchase of Bofors guns in 1980. After his assassination in 1991, the Delhi High Court gave him a clean chit as there was no evidence to prove that he accepted bribes.

The prime minister’s statement was condemned by Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, former central minister P Chidambaram, Congress party member Sam Pitroda, Akhilesh Yadav, Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal and other politicians.
