Tirupati: A generous act of corporate philanthropy saw a Chennai-based industrial firm donate 100 bicycles to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), the managing authority of the revered Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple.
The donation was carried out in a ceremonial manner, with representatives of the donor company participating in a special puja (religious offering) before formally handing over the bicycles to TTD’s deputy executive officer, Lokanatham.
According to an official statement released by TTD on Thursday evening, the contribution was made by TI Cycles of India, a subsidiary of the Murugappa Group. The handover took place in the sacred premises near the Srivari temple, adding a spiritual touch to the occasion.
The TTD acknowledged the meaningful gesture, emphasizing the importance of such corporate involvement in supporting temple logistics and pilgrim services. These bicycles are expected to enhance mobility for staff and possibly aid in eco-friendly transportation within the temple complex.
This contribution reflects the increasing role of socially responsible companies in supporting religious and cultural institutions, blending tradition with thoughtful modern-day support.
The Murugappa Group, known for its legacy and philanthropic initiatives, continues to align its CSR efforts with causes that uplift community well-being and heritage.
