In a potentially serious development, a research group under India’s Ministry of Defence has revealed that China provided air defense and satellite support to Pakistan during its recent military confrontation with India earlier this month. This revelation indicates deeper Chinese involvement in the conflict than what had been publicly acknowledged.
According to the findings, Beijing extended real-time satellite imagery and radar data to Islamabad, helping enhance Pakistan’s ability to monitor Indian troop and aircraft movements. Additionally, reports suggest the presence of Chinese military advisors near key installations in Pakistan during the period of heightened tensions.
This support is believed to have boosted Pakistan’s air defense readiness, possibly contributing to the missile and drone counterstrikes launched in response to India’s Operation Sindoor. The increased Chinese role raises concerns about regional security dynamics and the possibility of a two-front threat for India.
Strategic experts warn that this could signify a new level of China-Pakistan military cooperation, particularly in the context of surveillance, space-based assets, and cyber capabilities.
The Ministry of External Affairs has not yet officially commented, but senior defence analysts say this underscores the urgent need for India to modernize its own defense infrastructure, build alliances, and rethink its military preparedness for joint adversarial action.
