A 16-year-old Class 10 student died after falling from the third floor of a school building in Bharamasagara on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Krotresh, a student of DVS School. According to police, the incident occurred during school hours and was captured on CCTV cameras installed on the premises.
Died on the spot
Officials from the Bharamasagara police station said the student sustained fatal head injuries as he hit the ground directly. He was declared dead at the scene.
The exact reason behind the incident is yet to be determined. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the fall.
Body handed over to parents
After conducting a postmortem examination, authorities handed over the body to the grieving parents. The school administration was not immediately available for comment.
The tragic incident has left the local community in shock, with many expressing sorrow over the untimely loss of a young life.
