A heartbreaking incident occurred at the B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Girls’ Hostel in Agartala, where Richa Debbarma, a Class 11 student, was found hanging inside her room on Wednesday evening.
Richa, who attended Bodhjung Girls’ School, was discovered around 5:30 PM in Room No. 8, still clad in her school uniform. The grim discovery sent panic across the hostel premises.
Hearing the commotion, workers fixing electrical lines in a nearby building peered inside the room using their mobile flashlights and spotted her hanging lifelessly.
At the time, annual exams were being conducted for lower classes, while Class 11 theory exams had concluded. Practical exams were still pending. Whether exam stress had any bearing on her actions remains uncertain.
Authorities have launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to her untimely death.
