A 17-year-old student died after suddenly collapsing during classes at a coaching institute in Kankarbagh area of Patna on Tuesday morning, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Lakshya Bhardwaj, a resident of Madhepura district.
Student collapsed during class
According to police, Lakshya was studying at a coaching centre located in the Old Bypass locality under the jurisdiction of Kankerbagh Police Station.
Officials said the teenager suddenly fell unconscious inside the classroom around 9 am while attending classes.
The coaching staff immediately rushed him to a hospital in Kankarbagh for treatment.
Died during treatment
Police said the student died during treatment around 11 am.
The coaching institute later informed Lakshya’s family members about the incident.
Lakshya had reportedly been staying in the Kankarbagh area while preparing for his Class 12 examinations and competitive entrance tests.
Police begin investigation
Police officials confirmed that an investigation has been initiated into the incident.
Anil Kumar, Additional SHO of Kankarbagh Police Station, said a forensic team was sent to the coaching centre to collect evidence.
Officials stated that the exact cause of death would be confirmed only after the postmortem examination report is received.
The incident has sparked concern among students and parents regarding stress, health conditions, and emergency response arrangements at coaching institutions.
