A tragic incident has been reported from Telangana’s Mahabubabad district, where a 10-year-old boy allegedly died after consuming pesticide following a scolding at home.
Incident occurred at home
The deceased, identified as Pawan, a Class 4 student, was the youngest son of Ramadasu and Swapna. The incident took place on March 11 at Pusala thanda in Garla mandal.
According to reports, the boy consumed pesticide when he was alone at home after being scolded by his mother for not attending school.
Condition worsened the next day
Family members noticed his deteriorating condition the following day when he began vomiting and developed a high fever. He was immediately rushed to the Government District Hospital in Mahabubabad.
As his condition became critical, he was later shifted to a private hospital in Hyderabad for advanced treatment.
Succumbed during treatment
Despite medical efforts, the boy succumbed while undergoing treatment on Saturday, leaving his family and the local community in deep shock and grief.

The incident highlights the emotional vulnerability of children and the need for sensitive communication within families. Experts emphasise that children may react strongly to stress or fear, making it crucial for parents and caregivers to respond with understanding and support.
