Khammam: A 14-year-old Class 8 student died after suddenly collapsing during a sports activity at a residential school in Khammam district on Wednesday morning, leaving students and staff in shock.

Student collapses after running

The deceased, Saliganti Sathvik from Kakaravai village in Tirumalayapalem mandal, was studying at the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule BC Boys’ Residential School at Raghunadhapalem.

According to school authorities, Sathvik had been taking part in sports activities early in the morning. He reportedly collapsed shortly after completing a running activity.

Teachers and fellow students immediately provided first aid before rushing him to the Government General Hospital in Khammam. However, doctors conducted tests and declared him dead.

Family seeks thorough investigation

The exact cause of the student’s death has not yet been established. While a suspected heart attack has been cited, officials are awaiting further clarity.

Sathvik’s parents, Harish and Priyanka, were informed about the tragedy. The family has sought a thorough investigation to determine what led to the sudden death of their son.
