Madhya Pradesh: While the Congress-Janata Dal (S) coalition has reportedly baled out ‘Operation Lotus’ by the Bharatiya Janata Party in Karnataka, the Madhya Pradesh state famously called as “Hindi heartland”, is also feeling the tremors. One of the cabinet ministers from the Kamal Nath-led Congress government has hinted about this here on Wednesday, January 16.

The party with the highest majority which has a total strength of 121 MLAs including one MLA from SP and two MLAs from BSP has gone ahead claiming that there are chances of ‘horse trade’ soon in the state too.

In this regard, the State Law Minister P C Sharma has said that the BJP was trying hard to overcome the loss that they experienced in the three states during the recent Assembly polls.

He criticised BJP for conducting ‘horse trade’ in Karnataka and for planning one in MP too.

Sharma assured of a strong alliance with the SP, BSP and the independents in the state.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Kamal Nath has warned BJP to protect its own house and stop bothering about the Congress party.

In a statement given to one of the national news organisations, he has sarcastically said, “Jo bhaag jaaye maidan se, woh kya rahega maidan mein (one who retreats from the battle, how would he fight one)?”

He gave this statement referring to the BJP members who had walked out of the assembly proceedings of the Speaker election.
