Kozhikode: Prashanth Nair, former district collector of Kozhikode district and also known as ‘Collector Bro’ is now undergoing treatment at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in Ernakulam. The man took to his Instagram account to share details about his condition and illness and a photo of him in a hospital bed.
He is suffering from Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SSHL) also known as sudden deafness which usually occurs when one loses their sense of hearing very quickly typically in one ear. This can happen instantly or over a span of days during which the patient can only hear muffled noises.
But Prashanth has added that there was nothing to worry.
Previously he became famous for his various programmes and policies during his time as the District Collector of Kozhikode District and gained the title of ‘Collector Bro.’ He is also known to be very active on social media and uses his Facebook page to post important announcements, welfare schemes. He is also known to reply to messages of his followers which have made him popular with the masses, especially the younger generation.
