East Midnapore: The novel coronavirus has been spreading all over the world like wildfire. Fearing a further spread of the virus that has already killed over 500 people globally, several countries have banned travellers who have visited China since the outbreak. Very recently, flights between India and the virus-hit China were also suspended.
Pintu, an Indian man and Jiaqi, a Chinese woman, who met seven years ago during a business deal in China, recently got married in a traditional Indian ceremony at the groom’s home. Unfortunately, the woman’s family was unable to attend the wedding due to the travel restrictions owing to the coronavirus outbreak.
Speaking to ANI, Jiaqi said, “My family is happy and well but they couldn’t attend my wedding as flights between India and China have been suspended.
Jiaqi told ANI that she and her husband plan on going back to China, but they don’t know when. “When everything is done, we will go there (China) and complete the registry and everything,” she said.
Pintu told ANI that they wanted to get married in India, but Jiaqi’s family could not come because of the coronavirus outbreak. However, the newly married couple plans on having a ceremony in China as well.
