Mumbai: The sessions court has rejected the bail plea of Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty’s bail plea today.
Rhea has been lodged in Mumbai’s Byculla jail since Wednesday (September 9) after she was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on Tuesday (September 8) for allegedly arranging drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput.
Rhea Chakraborty’s earlier bail request was rejected by a magistrate who sent her to jail till September 22.
In her new request, she had retracted her confession and said she was “coerced into making self-incriminatory confessions”.
She said her life is at risk in judicial custody, that she had received rape and death threats and that three investigations had “taken a severe toll on her mental health and well-being”.
Along with the Chakraborty siblings, Sushant’s house manager, Samuel Miranda, and his staff, Dipesh Sawant, have also been arrested by the central agency.
In simple words, the court stated ‘All bails rejected.’ With this the actress will continue to live in the Byculla Jail.
In her bail plea, Rhea Chakraborty stated that she is innocent and accused the NCB of “falsely implicating” her in the case. She also stated that she was “forced into making self-incriminatory confessions” on the day of her arrest.
