Lucknow: A crude bomb explosion at a court in Lucknow on Thursday afternoon has left at least two lawyers injured.
The bomb hurled at the chamber of a lawyer was targeted at a senior member of the Lucknow Bar Association.
The explosion took place at the Lucknow Collectorate in Hazratganj, near the district magistrate’s office and barely a kilometre from the Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, news agency PTI reported.
At least three crude bombs were recovered after the explosion, eyewitnesses said.
Sanjeev Lodhi, joint secretary of the Lucknow Bar Association, claimed he was the target and blamed another lawyer – Jitu Yadav – for the attack.
Condemning the breach of security, several angry lawyers gathered outside the court after the incident.
Bomb disposal and dog squads are at the blast site.
