A Dalit man from Pauri who had earlier filed a complaint alleging he was denied entry into a temple for his daughter’s wedding has now requested its withdrawal. He claimed he had lodged the complaint under pressure from officials of the Mandir Vikas Mission.

The father, Nakul Das, submitted a written request to SDM Sadar Rekha Arya stating that his financial limitations led him to choose Adi Shakti Maa Bhuvaneshwari Temple in Maniyarsyun Patti for the wedding. He acknowledged an ongoing conflict between the Mandir Vikas Mission and the temple priests, suggesting his complaint was influenced by external factors.

Das clarified that the priests did not use any derogatory or casteist language and expressed regret for filing the police complaint. However, Circle Officer Sadar Trivendra Singh Rana confirmed that a case has been registered, and an investigation is ongoing to ascertain the facts.

This incident highlights the complexities of caste dynamics, temple access, and social pressures in religious institutions.
