Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, speaking at the historic Mhow Cantonment in Madhya Pradesh, highlighted India’s persistent security challenges on its northern and western borders, as well as internal threats. He urged soldiers to remain vigilant and proactive in countering these adversities.

“Enemies, whether internal or external, are always active. We must monitor their actions closely and respond with effective and timely measures,” Singh emphasized during his address to army personnel at the cantonment, which houses premier training institutions like the Army War College and Infantry School.

Singh stressed the army’s pivotal role in achieving India’s goal of becoming a developed and self-reliant nation by 2047. Acknowledging their rigorous training during what is considered “peacetime,” he remarked, “Your discipline and dedication are no less than that required in war.”

Earlier, the Defence Minister and Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi paid homage at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s memorial in Mhow, commemorating the Constitution’s chief architect at his birthplace.

The visit underlined the strategic and historical significance of the Mhow Cantonment, located 25 km from Indore, as a center for training and military excellence.
