New Delhi: The BJP’s Delhi unit’s website was hacked on Thursday, May 30 and photos of beef dishes were posted on the same by the miscreants.
The miscreant tweaked the navigation bar of the website and the word ‘BJP’ was replaced with ‘Beef’. A separate section ‘Beef Items’ appeared on the website, where recipes of various beef dishes were posted.
“Shadow V1P3R” has claimed responsibility for the hack.
The hacker also replaced details of the party’s leadership, history, and constitution with beef recepies. The new navigation bar showed sections like ‘Beef History’, which still led to a page on the BJP’s history, but the word BJP in the header was replaced with ‘Beef’. Other sections that were altered were ‘BJP Constitution’ and ‘BJP Leadership’, which appeared as ‘Beef Constitution’ and ‘Beef Leadership’, the latter showing a picture of a beef steak above an image of a smiling Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The website later went into “maintenance” mode and only a message saying “We will be back soon! Sorry for the inconvenience but we’re performing some maintenance at the moment. We’ll be back online shortly” was seen.
