New Delhi: More than 40 hours after violence broke out in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia visited the affected areas in the north-east region.
This development comes after the Delhi High Court’s orders that “the Chief Minister and Deputy CM should also visit the affected areas for confidence-building among people”.
During their visit, the two interacted with the locals in the Johripur area.
Earlier, after meeting the Delhi DCP (North-East), Kejriwal said that they would be visiting the violence-hit areas to “take stock of the situation”.
It can be recalled that earlier on Wednesday, February 26, the Delhi HC had asked some of the highest functionaries in the State and the Central governments to meet the victims and their families in person.
So far, 22 people have died as a result of the violence that broke out when anti and pro Citizenship (Amendment) Act factions clashed on Sunday. Over 190 others have been injured.
