New Delhi: The Delhi Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory ahead of a demonstration scheduled at Kisan Ghat on Tuesday, cautioning commuters about possible diversions and heavy congestion on several key roads across the national capital.
According to the advisory, traffic restrictions and diversions will be implemented from 8.30 am onwards, depending on the movement of the gathering, to ensure public safety and facilitate smooth traffic flow.
Diversions at key junctions
The advisory stated that traffic may be diverted at several important intersections, including Delhi Gate, Rajghat Crossing, Guru Nanak Chowk, Shantivan Chowk, Rajghat DTC Depot and the IP Flyover.
Motorists have also been advised to avoid Satyagrah Marg, Velodrome Road, Rajghat DTC Depot Road, Rajghat DTC Bypass Road, and nearby stretches, where traffic congestion is expected due to the demonstration.
Commuters advised to plan ahead
The Delhi Traffic Police have urged commuters travelling to Indira Gandhi International Airport, railway stations and adjoining areas to start their journeys well in advance to avoid delays.
Travellers have also been advised to use navigation applications for real-time traffic updates and alternative routes.
Follow traffic regulations
The advisory further requested members of the public to follow instructions issued by traffic police personnel, park vehicles only at designated locations and avoid roadside parking, which could worsen congestion.
Acknowledging that the restrictions may cause temporary inconvenience, the Delhi Traffic Police appealed for public cooperation to ensure smooth traffic management and maintain public safety during the demonstration
