New Delhi: The Delhigovernment has proposed an Integrated Command and Control Centre in its 2025-26 Budget to enable real-time tracking of air quality, water pollution, noise levels, and waste management.

Presenting the budget in the Delhi Assembly, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced an allocation of ₹506 crore for the Environment and Forest Departments.

A significant ₹300 crore has been designated for “Pollution Control and Emergency Measures” to implement eco-friendly reforms. Another ₹20 crore has been allocated under the “Delhi Parks and Garden Society” scheme to support Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), NGOs, and other organizations in enhancing green spaces.

CM Gupta outlined a large-scale afforestation drive aiming to plant 70 lakh saplings across Delhi to expand green cover, mitigate air pollution, and enhance biodiversity.

For the first time, 32 Water Quality Monitoring Stations will be established along the Yamuna River and key drains to enable live tracking of water contamination. Additionally, six new Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring (CAAQM) stations will be installed at strategic locations to provide real-time pollution data.

“Our initiatives will combat pollution and ensure a clean, sustainable future for generations to come,” stated CM Gupta.

The ₹1 lakh-crore budget, a 31.5% rise from the previous year, marks the first budget of a BJP-led Delhi government in over 26 years.
