Four individuals, one of whom is a minor, have been apprehended in connection with an extortion incident involving a gym owner, according to an official statement.

“The Delhi Police have arrested four members associated with the Gogi-Deepak Boxer-Sunny Kakran gang, including a juvenile in Conflict with the Law (CCL), for their involvement in firing at a gym owner in Burari as part of an extortion attempt,” a spokesperson stated.

Providing further insight into the arrests, DCP North Manoj Kumar Meena informed ANI, “We received a report around 10 pm stating that a gunshot was fired in the victim’s presence, accompanied by threats. Two individuals responsible for the gunfire fled the scene, seizing a motorcycle belonging to a laborer from Swaroop Nagar in their escape.”

“After analyzing CCTV footage and employing technical methods, one of the suspects, who had absconded, was identified. Subsequent raids led to the detention of four individuals, including the juvenile,” DCP Meena disclosed.

“Among the trio arrested, Nikhil has a prior record of murder and attempted murder from 2022. Mohit faces two robbery cases dating to the same year, while Gagandeep has been charged with harboring the other suspects,” DCP Meena added.

“In this instance, we have applied a specific provision of criminal law dealing with juveniles involved in criminal activities as an independent offense. This provision enables penalties not only for the juvenile offender but also for those who incited or coerced them into committing the crime,” DCP Meena concluded.
