Delhi Police Makes First Arrest in Burger King Shootout Case

Delhi

The Delhi police made their first arrest in connection with the Rajouri Garden Burger King shootout case on Friday. Details about the arrest are currently awaited.

The incident, which occurred on June 19 at a Burger King outlet in New Delhi’s Rajouri Garden, resulted in the death of one person due to alleged targeted firing.

Earlier this week, officials transferred the investigation of the murder to the Delhi Police’s counter-terrorism unit special cell. The victim, Aman Joon, 26, was fatally shot by two gangsters while he was with a woman inside the restaurant. Police reported that Joon sustained 38 gunshot wounds during the attack.

A fugitive gangster based in Spain, Himanshu Bhau, claimed responsibility for the killing in a social media post, citing revenge for the 2020 murder of Bawana’s cousin, Shakti Singh.

Joon was suspected of disclosing information about Shakti Singh’s whereabouts to Pradhan.

A senior police officer stated that the Special Cell’s Southwestern Zone unit is leading the investigation to apprehend the four identified suspects. Additionally, multiple teams from the Delhi Police, including the crime branch, are actively pursuing the assailants.
