In a significant crackdown, the Delhi Police have arrested three individuals and confiscated over 1,300 kilograms of illegal firecrackers from various locations in the capital. The arrested suspects include Manoj Kumar, Sanjay Atri, and Vipin Kumar.
Authorities revealed that Manoj Kumar has been involved in the sale of banned firecrackers since the Covid lockdowns, while Atri was responsible for their supply. A total of 1,323 kilograms of the illegal items were recovered from two warehouses in a raid conducted on Friday in Baprola village, Outer Delhi.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Satish Kumar confirmed that the owner of the warehouses and the driver who transported the firecrackers were also apprehended. Following the arrests of Manoj Kumar and driver Sanjay Atri, police interrogated them, leading to information about another warehouse and the subsequent arrest of Vipin Kumar. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
