In a startling case from Delhi’s Sultanpur area, a woman allegedly enlisted the help of two men to steal her husband’s mobile phone in order to delete sensitive photos shared with her romantic partner.

According to the police, the incident took place on June 19, and the two suspects have been on the run since then. One of them, Ankit Gahlot (27), was recently taken into custody and admitted that the woman had orchestrated the robbery. She was reportedly in a relationship outside her marriage, and her spouse had discovered photos of the couple stored on his device.

To retrieve and erase these images, she supplied the accused with details of her husband’s daily routine and movements. Acting on this information, the duo executed the theft near Old UK Paint Factory in Sultanpur’s main market and fled the scene on a rented scooter.

The victim notified authorities immediately through a PCR call. Investigators traced the vehicle’s registration number using ANPR camera footage from nearby Vasant Kunj. The scooter was found to have been rented from Daryaganj for just one day.

Through rental documents and Aadhaar-linked data, police were able to track the accused to Barmer district in Rajasthan. Before escaping, the two had checked into a hotel in Old Delhi to avoid capture.

The woman has been legally bound in the matter, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the second suspect.
