New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will not be appearing before the Enforcement Directorate on Monday for questioning in a money laundering case related to the Delhi excise policy.

The party labeled the agency’s sixth summons to its national convener as “illegal” and urged the ED to await the court’s decision instead of repeatedly sending summonses to Kejriwal.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had sought intervention from a city court after Kejriwal missed several summonses.

On Saturday, the court exempted Kejriwal from personal appearance for the day concerning the complaint filed by the central agency.

Kejriwal’s counsel submitted an application stating that the Budget Session of the Delhi assembly commenced on February 15 and will continue until the first week of March.

It was mentioned that Kejriwal will physically appear before the court on the next date of a hearing scheduled for March 16.
