New Delhi: A bank manager, abducted at gunpoint from his residence in Faridabad, has been safely rescued by the Haryana police’s crime branch. The swift action of law enforcement led to the unraveling of a disturbing plot. The victim, Satish, was forcibly taken on an 800 km journey to Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh, and later to Mathura. Investigations have pointed to Satish’s former tenant, Bhupendra, as the mastermind behind the abduction.

According to Aman Yadav, a senior police officer, Satish, a bank manager in Delhi residing in Sector 62 of Faridabad, and his wife, who is a government employee, were targeted due to their perceived wealth. Bhupendra, who had previously rented a property from Satish, conspired with his wife and an accomplice named Ravindra, a former colleague at a petrol pump, to execute the plan.

The abduction took place late on Saturday night when Bhupendra forcibly entered Satish’s home, armed with a gun. Despite attempts by Satish’s friend to intervene, Bhupendra subdued them, confiscated their phones, car keys, and wallet, and coerced Satish into driving towards Rohini. Ravindra joined Bhupendra in Rohini, where Satish was transferred to a cab and subsequently taken to Himachal Pradesh. During this ordeal, Satish was kept bound and gagged in the cab, with the kidnappers using his credit card for expenses.

Meanwhile, Satish’s family alerted the authorities, prompting a rapid response from law enforcement. Negotiations ensued between the kidnappers and Satish’s family, ultimately resulting in a reduced ransom demand of ₹5 lakh. Bhupendra was apprehended when he arrived to collect the ransom, leading to the revelation of Satish’s whereabouts in Mathura. Police promptly rescued Satish, who had sustained injuries during his captivity.

Bhupendra confessed to the crime, citing financial desperation as his motive. Law enforcement recovered the ransom money, weapons, and the vehicle used in the abduction. Efforts are underway to apprehend Ravindra, who remains at large.
