Officers stated on Thursday that a 29-year-old man was fatally stabbed by his estranged father in South Delhi’s Tigri neighborhood the day before his wedding, purportedly for criticizing him. Later, the accused was detained from Jaipur.
The deceased, Gaurav Singhal, a gym trainer, was repeatedly attacked inside his home with a knife, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan. According to the police, four more persons who were involved in the event are currently at large.
At about 12.30 am on Thursday, the incident was reported to the police. When Gaurav’s family members arrived at Max Hospital in Saket, he was declared dead.

The police received a call regarding the incident at around 12.30 am on Thursday. Gaurav was rushed to Max Hospital in Saket by his family members, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Investigators said his father Ranglal, 50, was subsequently held from Jaipur and was being brought to Delhi. Ranglal lived in the same area as Gaurav and his mother, but in a different house.
“Four more people are involved in the incident and, prima facie, the motive seems to be that Ranglal wanted to take revenge after Gaurav insulted him,” said the officer.
