New Delhi: Shortly after banning the export of non-Basmati white rice, the government has taken another step by prohibiting the export of de-oiled rice bran until November 30. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade issued a notification stating that the export policy on de-oiled rice bran has been changed from “free” to “prohibited” during this period. India is a significant exporter of this commodity, with an annual export volume exceeding 10 lakh tonnes.

De-oiled rice bran is valued for its health benefits, including its potential to prevent diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity.
