New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has leveled serious accusations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming that they have made attempts to “buy” seven Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs with an offer of ₹25 crore each. Kejriwal alleges that this move was aimed at destabilizing his government in the national capital.According to Kejriwal, the BJP engaged in discussions with AAP legislators, purportedly threatening his imminent arrest in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. He further alleges that the BJP’s strategy involved a sinister plan to overthrow the AAP government in Delhi.

In a detailed social media post, Kejriwal stated, “Recently, they [BJP] have approached 7 of our Delhi MLAs and conveyed – ‘We will arrest Kejriwal in a few days. Following that, we will persuade the MLAs to defect. Discussions have been held with 21 MLAs. Outreach to others is ongoing. Subsequently, we will dismantle the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi. You can also join us. We will offer ₹25 crore and facilitate your candidacy on a BJP ticket.'”

Despite claims of contacting 21 MLAs, Kejriwal emphasized that AAP’s information suggests only seven MLAs were approached, all of whom firmly declined the offer.

“This indicates that my potential arrest is not linked to investigating any liquor scam but is part of a conspiracy to topple the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi,” Kejriwal asserted. “Over the past nine years, they have plotted numerous schemes to dismantle our government, but they have failed every time. God and the people have always supported us. Our MLAs remain steadfast. This time too, their sinister intentions will be thwarted.”

Kejriwal attributed the alleged attempts to destabilize his government to AAP’s commendable work in Delhi. Despite facing various hurdles, Kejriwal noted, the people of Delhi harbor immense affection for AAP, posing a formidable challenge for the BJP in electoral contests.
