New Delhi: During the 75th Republic Day celebrations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Egyptian girl Kariman for her performance of the well-known patriotic song “Desh Rangeela.”
The group of Indians and Egyptians were pleased with Kariman’s performance when she had performed the song at India House during the festivities.

“This performance by the Egyptian Kariman is very catchy! “I commend her for her endeavors and extend my best wishes for her forthcoming pursuits,” PM Modi wrote on X.

PM Modi had reacted to the post by the Indian Embassy in Egypt, which had shared the video of the performance.

“During the 75th #RepublicDay celebrations at ‘India House,’ a young Egyptian girl named Kariman performed a patriotic song called ‘Desh Rangeela’. The large assembly of Indians and Egyptians was impressed by her melodic singing and accurate intonation, according to the Indian Embassy in Egypt.

In the meantime, India celebrated its 75th Republic Day with a huge party.

At Kartavya Path, President Droupadi Murmu raised the national flag. The National Anthem and a 21-gun salute using 105-mm Indian field guns and homegrown gun systems came next.

French President Emmanuel Macron was the Chief Guest at the Republic Day Parade. He was escorted by the President Murmu’s bodyguard, ‘Rashtrapati Ke Angrakshak’. They arrived at Kartavya Path in the ‘Traditional Buggy’, a practice that made a comeback after a 40-year gap.

Based on the twin themes of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Bharat – Loktantra ki Matruka’, this year’s parade witnessed the participation of around 13,000 special guests, an initiative aimed at providing an opportunity for people from all walks of life to take part in the celebrations and encourage ‘Jan Bhagidari’ (public involvement) at the event.

As many as 16 states and Union Territories also displayed their heritage diversity through cultural performances and tableaux.
