New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the press ahead of the Budget session, emphasizing that this session would be interim, while also questioning the behavior of opposition MPs in the previous session.
Addressing reporters outside the Parliament building, PM Modi greeted everyone with “Ram Ram” and reflected on the significant decision taken by the Parliament in its previous session to pass the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam.
Highlighting the recent display of Nari Shakti during the Republic Day celebrations, PM Modi described the Budget session, which commenced with President Droupadi Murmu’s address, as a celebration of women’s empowerment.
PM Modi criticized disruptive MPs, urging them to reflect on their conduct and contributions over the past decade. He stressed the importance of constructive participation in democracy, encouraging MPs to make positive contributions during this session.
Regarding the interim budget, PM Modi clarified that a full budget would be presented after the formation of the new government following the upcoming elections. He expressed confidence in the nation’s progress and development, seeking the blessings of the citizens for continued prosperity.
The Budget Session began with President Droupadi Murmu addressing both houses of Parliament. Scheduled to include eight sittings over ten days, this session precedes the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections expected to be held in April-May.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present the interim budget on February 1.
