New Delhi: During a debate on the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha, Union Minister Narayan Rane displayed anger towards fellow MP Arvind Sawant, urging him to sit down in a harsh manner. The chair intervened to address the situation as Rane’s remarks escalated. He asserted that Sawant lacked the “aukat” or status to criticize Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Rane warned that any comments from Sawant would be met with a forceful response.

The video of the incident quickly gained traction online, prompting criticism for Rane’s choice of language within the parliamentary context. The Aam Aadmi Party noted that a government minister seemed to threaten someone in Parliament using aggressive language, while opposition MPs were suspended for merely questioning the Modi government.

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi shared the video, stating that Rane’s behavior demonstrated the government’s standards.

Arvind Sawant, another Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) MP, contributed to the no-confidence motion debate by highlighting the serious Manipur issue, criticizing the government’s silence for 70 days even after the Supreme Court’s reprimand. Sawant also addressed the Shiv Sena defectors, emphasizing that true adherents of Hindutva would not desert their principles. He referenced how those who embraced Hindutva from the beginning didn’t abandon their beliefs, contrasting it with the situation where the NCP was labeled the ‘National Corrupt Party’ by PM Modi before joining the government in Maharashtra.
