In a heartfelt act of devotion, three Bengaluru-based worshippers—Radha Krishna, Shyam Sundar Sharma, and Shashidhar—donated four large silver lamps to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Saturday evening, according to an official release. The gleaming offerings were handed over to temple representative Ramakrishna at Mahadwaram, the temple’s grand entrance.

In a parallel gesture supporting safety, TTD Chairman B R Naidu distributed 555 helmets to employees commuting between Tirumala and Tirupati. The helmets, worth ₹5 lakh, were donated by J Raghuram and Naveen from a Delhi-based helmet manufacturing company. Naidu noted that another batch of 500 helmets is expected within two weeks. If the initial lot proves effective in quality and comfort, a total of 5,000 helmets will be supplied for further distribution.

These donations come as the Tirupati Venkateswara temple continues to draw immense crowds, making it the wealthiest Hindu temple globally. On any given day, the shrine receives between 70,000 to 100,000 pilgrims, and donations often exceed ₹3 crore.

The collective contributions—from spiritual adornments to practical safety measures—underscore the blend of devotion and community care that defines the temple’s ongoing legacy.
