Bollywood veteran Dharmendra, along with two other individuals, has been ordered by a Delhi court to appear in connection with a cheating case related to the Garam Dharam Dhaba franchise. The lawsuit, filed by businessman Sushil Kumar from Delhi, accuses the actor and his associates of misleading him into investing in a franchise. The incident traces back to 2018 when Kumar was promised a franchise for a Garam Dharam Dhaba located on NH-24/NH-9 in Uttar Pradesh.

Kumar alleges that after paying Rs 17.70 lakh via cheque, he was left without any communication from the accused parties. Despite his efforts to reach out, they allegedly ceased responding. As per the complaint, the deal was facilitated by representatives acting on Dharmendra’s behalf, leading to the businessman’s financial loss.

On December 5, Judicial Magistrate Yashdeep Chahal issued the summons, ruling that there was sufficient evidence pointing to cheating and criminal conspiracy. The court directed Dharmendra and his co-accused to appear before it on February 20, 2025.

The complaint also includes a letter of intent bearing the Garam Dharam Dhaba logo, further supporting Kumar’s claim that the transaction was linked to the franchise. The case highlights the legal implications of franchise deals and the potential risks for investors who fall victim to fraudulent business practices.

The matter is ongoing, with further investigations expected as the case unfolds.
