Amid social media’s endless flood of quick-fix weight loss claims, a grounded and realistic success story shared by Dr Sayajirao Gaikwad has struck a chord online. The Maharashtra-based homoeopathy practitioner recently took to X to highlight how one of his patients reduced weight from 100 kg to 89 kg in just over three months — without extreme dieting or shortcuts.

The post included a screenshot of a WhatsApp message from the patient, along with a photo of a weighing scale showing 89.1 kg. “Sir, from 100 to 89 in 3 months and 5 days. Thank you,” the message read. Responding to the achievement, Dr Gaikwad offered a reminder that resonated widely: “Sustainable fat loss comes from discipline, not shortcuts. Stay consistent.”

Focus on better food, not less food

Rather than promoting starvation or fad diets, Dr Gaikwad explained that the weight loss was achieved through simple, sustainable dietary changes. The emphasis, he said, was on improving food quality and maintaining consistency over time.

Protein-first approach

Meals were structured to begin with protein-rich foods such as eggs, chicken and paneer. According to the doctor, this helps preserve muscle mass while promoting fat loss, which is essential for long-term metabolic health.

Cutting out grains and sugar
