In a shocking case of domestic violence, a man named Susan Tayum brutally assaulted his wife, Ganga Biswakarma @ Tayum Yana, resulting in her death on November 24 at their home in Kakoi, Papum Pare district. The victim, a mother of three young children aged 10, 4, and 2, succumbed to her injuries, leaving her family devastated.
The Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society (APWWS) strongly condemned the incident, calling for swift justice. Led by president Kani Nada Maling, the team visited Kimin police station, met OC inspector Tumki Loya, and discussed investigation progress. They also interacted with the victim’s mother, who described her late daughter as a hardworking woman committed to her family despite her husband’s abusive behavior.
Through tears, the grieving mother said, “I cannot eat or sleep thinking about how my daughter was killed like an animal. Her children are now motherless. I want justice for her.”
The victim’s younger sister, an eyewitness to the crime, recounted the traumatic event to the APWWS team. The organization provided counseling to the family and referred the children’s case to the district child welfare committee for care and support.
Reaffirming their commitment to combating violence against women, Maling pledged continued efforts to seek justice. She also urged all stakeholders to uphold the rights and dignity of women and children in the state.
