Bihar: A video of birthday celebration of a double-murder convict serving life imprisonment, inside the jail at Sitamarhi in Bihar has left eyebrows raised.
The video, which reminds of Bollywood cinemas made on the storyline of crime in Bihar and the VIP treatment given to crime accused, holds a mirror at the security arrangements in the prison in the state.
Double murder convict-Pintu Tiwari is seen cutting a cake in the jail premises and enjoying lavish lunch along with other jail inmates. Tiwari, who was put behind bars in the murder case of two engineers in Darbhanga in 2015 is seen cutting the cake on the backdrop of a tree embellished with balloons. He can also be seen accepting gifts from fellow inmates. Tiwari is a sharpshooter of Santosh Jha gang and is a history-sheeter.
It is shocking to know that the jail manual has been torn apart by these criminals. The birthday party is shot on a mobile phone, which means the inmates of Sitamarhi jail have access to mobile phone.
According to ANI, four guards of the jail have been suspended in connection with the incident. A high-level inquiry has been reportedly ordered to find out how Tiwari and other inmates managed to hold a party while serving jail term.
A few months ago, a similar video of Naini Central Jail, Uttar Pradesh had gone viral. Here inmates were seen celebrating the transfer of a dreaded gangster and former parliamentarian Atiq Ahmed to Sabarmati jail. They were seen enjoying liquor and chicken dishes.
