Driver Evades Toll, Runs Over Worker in Hapur: Police Launch Manhunt

A car driver in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur attempted to evade paying a toll tax by speeding through a toll booth on the Delhi-Lucknow highway, running over a toll worker in the process, police reported on Friday.

The chilling incident occurred late Thursday night at the Chhijarsi toll booth and was captured on the booth’s CCTV cameras.

The footage reveals the toll worker walking across the vehicle lane when a speeding car suddenly appears, hitting him from behind. The impact launches the worker into the air, and he lands on the car’s bonnet as it continues to race through the toll booth.

Officials confirmed that the worker was trampled by the car. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where his condition remains critical.

Police have launched an investigation and are actively searching for the driver of the vehicle.
