A day before Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s scheduled arrival in Kerala’s Kannur district, the Collector on Friday prohibited the operation of drones, paragliders, hot air balloons, and other unmanned aerial vehicles in the vicinity of the airport.

The restriction, announced by Collector Arun K Vijayan, will remain in effect for three days within a five-kilometer radius of Kannur airport.

According to the district administration’s statement, any activity that could obstruct aircraft landing or takeoff must be immediately reported to the nearest police station.

Officials confirmed that this directive was issued under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS).

As per the Union Home Minister’s itinerary, Amit Shah is expected to travel to Kannur from Thiruvananthapuram around 4 pm on Saturday. He will visit the Rajarajeshwara Temple in Taliparamba before departing for Delhi.
