A tense and bizarre moment unfolded at the Kasaragod Government UP School on Thursday morning, when an eagle swooped in and snatched a teacher’s hall ticket just minutes before a crucial departmental exam for government officials.

The incident occurred around 7:15 am, with candidates arriving at the venue since 7:00 am. The teacher, who was waiting outside the exam hall, was moments away from entering when the eagle suddenly descended, grabbing her hall ticket in its talons and flying toward the school office window.

“Everyone was stunned. The other candidates quickly tried to distract the bird by shouting and waving, but the eagle soared up and landed on the school rooftop, still holding the document,” said Ram Manohar, the acting headmaster.

Panic briefly set in, as there were fears the teacher might miss the exam if the eagle flew away with the hall ticket. Fortunately, just before the long bell rang, the bird dropped the paper and flew off, averting a last-minute disaster.

Interestingly, the eagle is known to the school staff and students, frequently seen around the campus. “It’s usually friendly with children and has never behaved aggressively before,” Ram added.

The identity of the teacher remains unknown, as she left the premises shortly after completing the exam.
