Four individuals have been arrested in connection with a series of electric wire thefts in Sirhind, Punjab. The accused have been identified as Parkash Ram from Bihar; Nannu and Karan from Madrasi Colony, Sirhind; and Naresh from Brahman Majra, Sirhind.
Police station in-charge Inderjit Singh received intelligence regarding Naresh Kumar’s involvement in stealing electric wires with the help of accomplices. Acting on the tip, police arrested Naresh on July 23 and placed him under remand. During interrogation, he revealed the names of the other gang members.
Subsequent raids led to the arrests of Parkash, Nannu, and Karan. In a failed attempt to evade arrest, the trio sustained injuries while jumping off a rooftop and were later admitted to a hospital for medical care.
Based on their statements, the police recovered stolen copper wires from transformers and other electrical installations, along with motorcycles and cash.
Inspector Singh stated that ongoing investigations may uncover further theft cases linked to the group, as the police continue to track the scope of their operations.
