New Delhi: A Turkish airlines flight made an emergency landing at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International airport following a bomb threat on Tuesday, July 7. The flight was scheduled to fly from Bangkok to Istanbul.
The CISF control room received a call from inside the plane after which they informed the Delhi Police. The call was received around 1.43pm. After making the emergency landing, the plane was taken to an isolated area. However, no explosives were found on the plane.
All 148 passengers have been evacuated safely. The security alarm was raised after ‘bomb in cargo’ was found written on bathroom mirror of the aircraft. The flight crew then contacted Nagpur ATC who then directed the plane to land at Delhi airport. The scanning of entire cargo will take some time.
Further details are awaited.
