THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A late-night emergency at Venchavode IMB Hospital turned violent when a woman, falsely claiming to be a doctor, assaulted the duty doctor Revathy J P with help from two male companions.

The incident took place around 11 PM on Friday, when the trio brought in a 65-year-old man with chest pain. The woman began giving unsolicited medical instructions. When Dr. Revathy refused to comply, she was slapped and had medicines thrown at her, while the two men held her back, enabling the assault.

The attackers fled in two vehicles before police could arrive. A case has been registered under several sections, including those of the Kerala Healthcare Services Personnel and Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage to Property) Act.

CCTV footage is being analyzed to identify and track down the culprits.
