In a disturbing case from Damoh, Madhya Pradesh, a man masquerading as a renowned British cardiologist allegedly conducted unauthorized heart procedures, leading to the deaths of seven patients. The accused, Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav, reportedly posed as “Dr N John Camm,” borrowing the identity of a prominent UK-based specialist to gain trust.

Yadav became affiliated with the Mission Hospital in January 2025 and carried out numerous heart surgeries before disappearing in February. Sources reveal he falsely claimed to have received training in London. The real Dr. John Camm had earlier flagged this impersonation attempt through a public alert.

Concerned about the gravity of the situation, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has initiated an independent investigation. NHRC member Priyank Kanoongo confirmed that a special inquiry team will be stationed in Damoh from April 7 to 9 to examine the case closely.

The hospital in question is also a beneficiary of the Ayushman Bharat healthcare scheme, sparking fears of potential misuse of government subsidies and compromised patient care. A formal probe report has been forwarded to District Collector Sudhir Kochar by Chief Medical Officer Dr. Mukesh Jain.

Authorities further discovered that Yadav is named in an FIR in Telangana, currently under verification. Meanwhile, the hospital administration has launched an internal review of the hiring and verification processes that allowed such a fraud to occur.
