A female lawyer and her sister faced sexual harassment by three men inside a car near CP-67 mall on the busy Airport Road in Mohali, police reported. The incident unfolded around 9:45 pm on Wednesday as the sisters were riding a Honda Activa on their way home.

At the traffic signal near the mall, the men blocked their path, making lewd gestures and attempting to film the sisters on a mobile phone despite heavy traffic around them. Ignoring any sense of decency or law, the men continued their misconduct until the lawyer shouted for help, forcing the group to flee.

The lawyer immediately reported the incident to Phase-8 police station, where a case has been registered under several sections of the BNS Act against the unidentified suspects. Authorities have acquired the car’s registration details and are working toward arresting those responsible.

In a related incident on the same night, a female student from the University Institute of Legal Studies at Panjab University accused two men of sexual harassment while walking back to her hostel around 9:30 pm on the university campus.

These incidents have sparked concern about the safety of women in public spaces, prompting calls for stronger enforcement and awareness.
